Shaykh Raqib Bukhari
Founder
Shaykh Raqib is a UK-born scholar who memorised the Qur’an at Jamiatul Ilm Wal Huda and later completed the ʿĀlimiyyah programme with specialisation in Qirāʾāt, Fiqh, and Arabic. He graduated with First-Class Honours with Distinction in Islamic Law from the University of Madinah and also holds a Diploma in Arabic.
While in the City of the Prophet ﷺ, he studied under renowned scholars of the Haramain.
Shaykh Raqib is known for his engaging teaching, unique Hifdh method, and inspiring Seerah tours in Makkah and Madinah. His students have gone on to achieve remarkable feats, including completing the Qur’an in two Rakʿāt of Salah.
Ustadh Saif Ali
Co-Founder
Ustadh Saif Ali is a young Hafidh of the Qur’an, known for his inspiring Islamic content on social media. Born and raised locally, he combines his passion for the Deen with a background in software engineering and digital media. He is currently training to recite the entire Qur’an in one sitting and frequently travels for ʿUmrah, drawing spiritual and creative inspiration from the Haramain.
Saif has experience in content creation and social media management for businesses and uses his platforms to share short, impactful reminders—especially aimed at younger audiences. His goal is to create meaningful digital content that connects hearts to the Qur’an and Sunnah.
Qari Abdullah Hanook
Tutor
Qari Abdullah Hanook, from a family of Huffādh, memorised the Qur’an at a young age and has since achieved exceptional milestones. He has completed over 200 full Khatams and recited the entire Qur’an from memory in one sitting more than 35 times—some of which took place in front of the Ka‘bah and in Masjid an-Nabawī without a single error.
He holds an Ijāzah in Qur’anic recitation and is pursuing advanced studies in various Riwayāt alongside the ʿĀlimiyyah programme and A-levels. A top-performing student with straight A*s in GCSEs, he plans to study Medicine. Qari Abdullah also teaches Qur’an and mentors students, known for his discipline, humility, and deep love for the Qur’an.
Shaykh Zayed
Tutor
Shaykh Zayed memorised the entire Qur’an and completed the ‘Ālimiyyah programme at the renowned Dārul Uloom in Blackburn.
He is proficient in the seven modes of Qur’anic recitation (Sab‘ah Qirā’āt). Currently, Shaykh Zayed teaches Hifdh locally, where he shares his deep understanding and experience to nurture the next generation of Huffādh.
In addition to his religious duties, Shaykh Zayed also serves the community in a practical capacity as a qualified driving instructor. He is known for balancing his spiritual and professional roles, using both platforms to guide and support others with sincerity, patience, and dedication.
Ustadh Mohammed Jiyad
Tutor
Ustadh Mohammed Jiyad is a dedicated teacher at Quba Academy with a deep passion for Islamic knowledge and service. His journey began at Madinatul Uloom Al-Islamiya, Kidderminster, where he completed his Hifz and the first year of the Alimiyyah course alongside his secular studies. Alhamdulillah, he is now in the final year of the Alim course and continues to grow both as a student and a teacher.
In addition to his academic and teaching commitments, he works as a chauffeur, striving to balance his time between work, study, and community service solely for the sake of Allah. Ustadh Jiyad is also a regular key helper in Umrah trips, driven by his passion for helping others on their spiritual journey. Locally, he is known for his dedication to serving the Ulama and assisting in various religious and community activities.
Mawlana Dr Aqib
Quba Adviser
Dr. Aqib began his Hifz at Masjid Noor, Luton, and later graduated top of his class from Darul Uloom Blackburn. He also achieved outstanding academic success with seven A-Levels and went on to study Medicine.
After qualifying as a doctor, he travelled to Egypt to further his studies in Arabic, Qur’an, and Balāghah. Passionate about Tafsīr, he regularly delivers Bayāns and mentors students pursuing competitive fields like Medicine and Dentistry. He teaches on an online ʿĀlimiyyah programme and at Darul Uloom Blackburn, and has also served as an Imam internationally, including in Edmonton, Canada.
Mawlānā Zubair ibn Mufti Nazir
Lead role in Nikkah services
Mawlānā Zubair ibn Mufti Nazir, born in Karachi and raised in Blackburn, began his Islamic journey by memorising the Qur’ān under the guidance of his father, Mufti Nazir Saheb, and other local scholars. He studied at Jamiatul Ilm Wal Huda and completed his Hifdh in Battagram, Pakistan. He later pursued the ‘Ālimiyyah programme at Jamia Binoria in Karachi under Mufti Muhammad Naeem (rahimahullah), before returning to Darul Uloom Blackburn, where he graduated in 2017. Over the years, he has served as an Imam and teacher in various communities including Stevenage, Manchester, Dudley, and Luton, while also overseeing educational projects abroad. Now based in Blackburn, he continues to serve the Deen. He has studied under many notable scholars, including Mufti Shabbir Saheb, Mufti Abdus Samad Saheb, Mufti Ikramul Haq Saheb and was deeply influenced by Mufti Muhammad Naeem (rah) and Dr Allāmah Khālid Mahmūd (rah).
